Some great photographic examples of ‘freezing the action’

Digital cameras today can capture photographic images that we could only dream of in the not too distant past, so that now, even the amateur photographer is able to capture some sublime images.

Just look online at websites such as Flickr to see what I mean. Of course, the person behind the camera adds the creative and artistic qualities to the photo, but once you have these qualities then a good camera is essential, and there are plenty of good digital cameras on the market at almost any price range.

Below is a selection of images that caught my eye that required fast shutter speeds (or flash).
